As an association, we are trying to stop limited scope, 5-point, verbal and walkthrough inspections performed during a real-estate sale process.
These types of inspection do not provide either the seller or the buyer with sufficient detail about the condition of the home to be fully cognizant of the potential costs of defect remediation.
We are trying to establish the source of these types of inspection and are asking Consumers, Inspectors and Realtors to report instances of these short-form inspections including the names of the Inspectors and Realtors involved in the process.
Only by understanding what is the real catalyst for these inferior inspections can we as a profession hope to eradicate them.
