About Bryson Bumstead

I would like to introduce myself. My name is Bryson Bumstead, and I was born and raised in Midland; I have been very active in our community with 15 years volunteering for local minor and junior hockey, minor baseball, inline hockey and minor lacrosse,Midland Civitan Club, Midland Penetang Builders Assoc. Growing up, I have been involved in the construction trade, as my dad, brother, and cousin are all licensed plumbers, as much as I tried to avoid that route it was inevitable that I became licensed as well. I have seen new home construction as well as home renovations and worked closely with other tradespersons. I always have the attitude that the home I was working on is the home that I myself and my family would live in and wanting nothing overlooked or surpassed because a home investment is one of the most major investments that an individual or family will purchase. After twenty years of dealing with my family heritage, I felt it was time for a change in my career choice and took on a new role in the manufacturing industry. I then found myself only working a 40 hour week. What would I do with all this extra time on my hands? I had always wanted to continue my education in a field that I would enjoy and look at as an enjoyment rather than destiny. I took my time on this choice, investigating the supply and demand for all my interests. It was at this time my wife and I had purchased our second home and of course we had a home inspection done. I remember that day as I walked around with our Home Inspector that this was what I’ve been looking for. The details of the building, from the foundation to the roof, and all that made it not just a building but a home. I finally found that trade that I could also bring my attitude of the major investment with me. I now left the manufacturing industry behind and taking on the new role in the sales industry where I am currently employed at Home Depot as a Supervisor. It has been an enjoyable experience and I have recently completed the Home Inspection Course through Carson & Dunlop Education Services at Georgian College in Barrie. This course consisted of ten modules over a course of two years. Currently I have run my Home Inspection business along with my work at Home Hardware in Orillia. I am a Certified Master Inspector, member of the board of directors of OntarioACHI.
