Is this site dead? No coversation threads, no member links? I was able to renew my membership, … but what is the status of OACHI?
Yes, we are still alive and kicking, although the same can’t be said of many in the profession. We have noticed that a large number of long-time Home Inspectors appear to have left the profession. This appears to have been due to a combination of higher insurance rates, lower numbers of inspections caused primarily by the multiple-offers situations and exacerbated by the COVID-19 (20,21,22?) pandemic.
The lack of conversation threads both here on the website, and the social media sites we operate are a further indication of the lack of news for the profession.
We are starting to see a small improvement in the market, and Inspections are once again on the rise in certain locations across the province, but we are by now means anywhere near the volume of 2017.
