In the on-line inspection agreement in the Ontarioachi the part where is says Canadian Anti-Spam legislation are we supposed to highlight the part in brackets and replace it with a merge field, or just leave it as is. Thanks
The bracketed wording is to cover for third party services you may be using as an inspector.
For example, if you are using Carson Dunlop (Horizon) for your reporting, then to keep you legal under the Privacy and CASL regulations you need to leave the Carson Dunlop wording in place. The same goes for other report providers such as Homegauge and HIP etc.
If you are providing additional services such as the RWS warranty packages or Home Inspection Network then you need to leave the wording for those in too. If you are passing your clients information to any other third party, then you should add wording to inform them of that as well/instead.
There are too many third party suppliers out there for us to put all the wording in, so we’ve given you the most popular for you to develop any extras you need. Get any changes checked by a lawyer.
