We are somewhat late with this Newsletter. We'd like to blame it on the election in Ontario, or the monsoon in the far east, or even on Donald Trump, but no...this one's on us.
When it gets busy, we just don't have the manpower to source, investigate and provide the news that we think is worthy of our members.

Association News

TARION Inspections


Your Association has been working with TARION since the 2018 Annual Conference and are close to getting the first draft of a TARION warranty inspection program.
The team at TARION have been busy developing their portion of the program and have promised us the first release by the start of August.
When this program is finalised it will support inspectors who want to provide consumers with approved TARION Warranty inspection services.
More as we get it.

2019 Conference and Exhibitors Showcase

We are way ahead of the game this year. We would like to announce the dates for the 2019 OntarioACHI annual conference and exhibitors showcase.
Following feedback from this year, next year we are changing things up yet again. The conference will be over 3-days, with the first day reserved solely for training and the next two for seminars, presentations and exhibitors showcase.
The conference will be running from February 19th to 21st and will be at the Mohawk Inn in Milton.
We already have our platinum sponsor for the conference 2019 which will be headlined by Urban Studies.

Profession News

The Condominium Management Regulatory Authority of Ontario (CMRAO) is a self-funded non-profit corporation that is accountable to the Ontario Ministry of Government and Consumer Services (MGCS). The CMRAO and the Ministry of Government and Consumer Services (MGCS) have entered into an agreement to develop this new licensing program for the home inspection sector in Ontario.
While we will be providing regular updates to members as we get them, you can opt to get informed by the MGCS directly.

Drone Regulations

After nearly 3 years of talks as stakeholders in the Transport-Canada drone regulations changes, it appears we are at the final hurdle. We are pleased to say following a rather pointed meeting with Transport-Canada in May, the majority of the concerns we had with the proposed regulations have been listened to and acted upon. We feel that the new proposals offer the right balance between safety, affordability and sensible operational requirements. Read more here
